Carved from chocolaty brown agate, it depicts not one, but TWO profiles! The left figure wears the helmet of a Spartan soldier and at his right, facing the opposite way, is most likely a depiction of Ares, the god of war. Spartans were renowned for their bravery and expertise on the battlefield, and a signet ring such as this would be fitting for a
